Clearly you are reading this because you, or your friend or loved one is experiencing neck pain, back pain or headaches and you want to learn more about our special sEMG examination.

At a Chipley Chiropractic it is important for us to help you verify your complaints with the highest quality research and clinical grade instrumentation available for the purpose of detecting and correcting spinal disorders.  This is why we use the Myovision sEMG.

sEMG stands for Surface Electromyography.  sEMG is a device that measures the amount of electrical activity your muscles release when they are contracting, more commonly known as muscle tension.  It is similar in function to an EKG that measures heart muscle activity.

The test is not at all painful.  It is totally non-invasive and does not cause pain or irritation.  This makes it totally safe for infants, children, pregnant women or seniors.  It simply requires the placement of the small probes against the skin by one of our great doctors or trained staff members.  The test takes less than 5 minutes.

Muscle activity is very important around the spine.  Muscles have a tendency to "brace" in response to spinal misalignments, joint dysfunction and nerve irritation.  This is what is known as a Vertebral Subluxation Complex and This is what we treat very successfully.  Areas of increased muscle activity are directly related to areas of nerve interference and joint dysfunction.

The results of this quick test show the levels of muscle tension.  Average is green, pink is moderately high, and red are high levels of tension.  Yellow readings indicate abnormally low or fatigued muscles.  Arrows indicate an imbalance of the left side versus the right side.

You may wonder, how does this relate to your overall health and chiropractic treatment.  Vertebral Subluxations reduce your body's ability to maintain optimal health.  When Vertebral Subluxations are present, the nervous system is negatively affected resulting in increases or decreases in muscular activity.  The sEMG shows the muscular component of the Vertebral Subluxation.

The chiropractic doctor's job is to correct the Muscle, Joint and Nerve Irritation.  In most cases the sEMG will begin to show significant improvement after just a few weeks of treatment.

Call us today to schedule Your sEMG exam as soon as possible and learn the truth about your spine and stop little problems before they become big ones.  Don't procrastinate… call now!
